CWUW is looking for Volunteers

The Center of Wellness for Urban Women (CWUW) is looking for volunteers who are interested in being a part of the development of an innovative health and wellness organization for women and their families.


Volunteerism is important to our own personal health and wellness. Giving back improves our mental wellness.


CWUW is looking for energetic women and men with various skill sets and interests.


We need people interested in:
Program development
Resource and Financial development and management
Background in mental health, physical fitness and nutrition
Environmental health
Background in CAM/alternative therapies
Administrative Support
Outreach and Support
Evaluation and Research
Web communications and marketing

For CWUW LIfe Jam Advisory Board:
Artists
Musicians
Event Planners/Fundraisers
Skills in Program Development
Art and Music Therapy
Resource Development
Community Partners (businesses and organizations reps)

Committees begin in Jan 2009

You must have at least 10-15 hours per month (or more) to commit to this volunteer opportunity. Some positions may lead to board placement.


Definition of ‘Volunteer

A ‘volunteer’ is anyone who without compensation or expectation of compensation beyond reimbursement performs a task at the direction of and on behalf of the agency. A ‘volunteer’ must be officially accepted and enrolled by the agency prior to performance of the task.


All applicants must complete a volunteer application and will be interviewed by a member of the board and the executive director.


Requirements;

18 and Over
1 year of sobriety
Have an interest in women's health issues
