Eliminating or even reducing meat consumption can bring many health benefits to one's health. Meat products tend to be high in fat, especially saturated fat and cholesterol, so plant-based foods are a healthier option. In fact, plant-based foods are cholesterol-free, and they help to "reduce risks of cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney stones, gallstones and osteoporosis" (Schuna, 2013).
