Getting on my grind

Its seems I've finally found my groove with working out and diet. Sometimes its just establishing a routine that you can follow and JUST DOING IT. I'm walking with CWUW on Saturdays, working with my Wellness Coach from Creating Core Change, working out at Cardinal Fitness and working out with my Biggest Loser and The Firm dvds ( love them ). This way, I'm not getting bored. I've also renewed my membership with Calorie King which helps me to monitor my daily caloric intake

I already feel better. I've put the scale out of sight for a few weeks. This isn't about that just yet but connecting to my body in a healthy way and finding a new way of eating so I can get the most from living.

My next big challenge is to find ways to RELAX. For some this is too easy and for others, it is a challenge. For me is to realize that I don't always have to be the E.D. of CWUW, the Mother of the Kid, and employee of the gig. I'm Rhonda. Its a part of me living the 7 Dimensions for my own life. Even in meditation, my mind wanders to CWUW work. GRRRRRRRRRRRR...its my challenge but I will find the balance I need.

I'm hoping you all are journaling, processing your feelings, and developing a plan to change your lifestyle towards a healthier one. Its NOT easy but so what. ;)

Live Life Well,

Rhonda

Eating Local & Urban Gardening coming to IUPUI!

Cultivating Cosmic Patriotism by Cultivating Cosmos:
Urban Gardening and the Creation of Community

Discussion: 3:00 PM-4:15 PM

IUPUI, Cavanaugh Hall 411

425 University Boulevard, Indianapolis, IN 46202

This essay considers urban gardening as an important contemporary setting in which to cultivate what Jane Addams calls "cosmic patriotism," an alternative to the patriotism of the tribe, and a form of patriotism characterized by a commitment to multiculturalism, humanitarianism, and internationalism.

Community gardens, "guerilla gardens," and other collective, urban agricultural ventures offer the very sorts of urban settings Addams argued were crucial for the nurturance of such patriotism: a pleasurable, or recreational setting in which city residents could share their knowledge and culture with each other in a spirit of play and openness. Heldke will discuss these issues in an informal afternoon session.

Accountability: Let's do this Rhonda!

I think at the beginning of the year I wrote something about walking the talk and being on this health journey with the women and men who need support and who support CWUW. I have my wellness coach and we've been meeting. So what has happened?

I can honestly say that I feel so much better about me! I have a healthier body image. I focus more on living a balanced life. Now, has that translated into a change on the scale? Not much. I actually do eat better but it haven't jumped into the weight lost game. I needed to heal some of the internal scars of bulimia and self esteem issues that had me on a roller coaster ride for years. Now is the time for the body. I had to get my mind on the right path and now, the body must follow.

I'm going to the gym and monitoring my food intake. I'm still looking at being healthy vs a target size per se.

I'm on this journey with you.

I'll blog about this journey, the ups and downs, as much as possible.

Let's do this!!

Live Life Well.....

Be Encouraged

You are Divinely made which means at birth, God has provided you with all that you will need through life. At the same time, conditioning sets in at the same time. The World is ready to defeat the purpose for your life so we live a part of our lives undoing the madness of the world but know - it can be done.

Daily, I have to remind myself that God loves me. He loves my personality. He loves my body. He loves my strength. He has given me all that I need for MY purpose, not yours, but MINE. I can't look at another person and wish for their body, their faith, their hair, etc, etc. I have to learn that in everything, there is a reason. God wants me to be authentically ME.

Of course, we can admire a person's strength and beauty but shouldn't use it as a measuring stick to our own self worth. We can be motivated by the accomplishments of others but not let it overwhelm you in your own person goals.

Be encouraged that God knows all of your troubles and your valleys. He is waiting on you to wake up and realize that I AM is with you and IN you. You are Empowered to change. You're empowered to do all that you need to live a better life but YOU have to take the leap. Just do it! Whatever it is....JUMP!

All is well.
